Pienza is a wonderful example of Renaissance urbanism: defined as “The ideal city”, it represents one of the constructive ways in which it was attempted to realize a model of life and ‘ideal’ government on earth that was able to give concrete answers to the desire for peaceful civilian coexistence of men.
